Power and Policy

Our Power and Policy workshops are about giving people the tools to make change. We introduce community members to how public and community policy works, and we break down what it means to advocate for the issues that matter most. The goal is simple: help people use their power to improve their own lives, their neighbors’ lives, and the health of the communities we all share.

Make It

What we believe

Power lives in people and places and in the joy and culture of a community. Once people understand their rights and the systems in which major decisions are made, they can demand change and protect what matters to them. Education is an invaluable resource that helps amplify and organize the voices of communities to challenge unjust systems.

What we do about it

Power & Policy is a civics education and community organizing workshop series. Participants receive information and knowledge related to understanding how decision-making works, learning from local civics and policy experts about how to activate and take action on issues and topics they care about in community.

In partnership with PolicyBridge and Khnemu Foundation, community residents will understand how decision-making works, learning from local civics and policy experts how to activate and take action. The goal is to create a sustainable cadre of citizen activists who are community experts on lead and healthy housing who can begin to address these and other issues in their communities.

Our curriculums are custom designed every time to provide the right education to the specific groups we’re working with. So far, we’ve partnered with specific communities and groups in and around the Cleveland area, and are launching our first youth cohort in 2025.
