EHW believes that every community should consist of an ecosystem designed with the value of people and place in mind to ensure the function and holistic strength intrinsic to communal living. The goal of this programming is to create a natural social cohesion which prioritizes solidarity and relationships between people beyond all constructed demographic divides.

FreshFest

The Fresh Fest Cleveland festival incorporates music, culture, and the arts into equitable economic development placemaking, allowing residents to come together and advocate for environmental justice.

A collaborative effort involving EHW, the EPA, and Blacks in Green (BIG), the Center provides technical assistance, training, and related support to communities and their partners with environmental justice concerns.

EHW is one of the lead partners and collaborators for The BIG Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center, a resource center that provides technical assistance services to communities in EPA’s Region 5 territory facing environmental justice issues. It aims to empower communities and help them advance environmental justice by providing tools and resources to address environmental challenges. The center is an important resource for communities to build capacity, identify solutions, obtain relevant training, and foster collaboration to address environmental injustices.
